Nurse practitioners can provide a broad range of health care services, very much the same as the care provided by physicians.
While nurse practitioners often maintain close working relationships with physicians, they usually work autonomously and are not required to work directly with or under physicians. Unlike registered nurses, they are able to open their own clinical practices, and can serve as a patient’s regular health care provider and see patients of all ages.
Nurse practitioners, registered nurses, or licensed assistants will need to finish and pass a hard school program in order to work with health care providers in centers or private practices. Nurses can be both male and female, and are generally know to help doctors or specialists care for patients. They may be working to get a PhD, but there is a long process in order to become a licensed doctor. A resident of the hospital in scrubs, such as a nurse, nurse practitioner, or RN, must go through the system in order to get their degree for safety reasons.
